Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah Wins Record Third PFA Player of the Year Award

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has etched his name further into football history by winning the 2025 PFA Men’s Player of the Year award, becoming the first player ever to claim the prize three times.

The 33-year-old Egypt international was instrumental in Arne Slot’s title-winning side last season, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists as Liverpool lifted the Premier League crown. His exceptional campaign saw him dominate the vote among PFA members.

The award adds to Salah’s record-equalling third Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year title, collected earlier this year.

Reflecting on his journey, Salah said:
"Of course I wanted to be a football player and I wanted to be famous and provide for my family, but you don’t think about the big stuff when you are still in Egypt. When you grow, you start to see things differently and you start to have ambition and see the bigger picture."

Salah also finished the 2024/25 campaign as the Premier League’s top scorer, underlining his status as one of the game’s modern greats.

He is one of five Liverpool players named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, alongside Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and summer signing Milos Kerkez.

The lineup also features Arsenal trio William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Declan Rice. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes were shortlisted for the award but missed out on a place in the XI.
