Ademola Lookman Returns to Atalanta Training After Inter Milan End Pursuit

Ademola Lookman has rejoined Atalanta training in Bergamo after several days of absence amid transfer speculation.

The Nigerian international skipped sessions without authorization in an attempt to push through a move to Inter Milan, even releasing a statement accusing Atalanta of breaking promises and failing to respect him “as a human being and a professional footballer.”

However, Inter have now withdrawn from the race after failing to reach an agreement with Atalanta.

Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi later clarified that while there was an understanding that Lookman could leave under certain conditions, it applied only to offers from “big clubs” outside Serie A — effectively ruling out Inter and complicating negotiations.

According to Sky Sport, the 27-year-old returned to training on Tuesday accompanied by his father and a friend. He is now expected to face possible disciplinary measures from the club.

Atalanta begin their Serie A season on Sunday evening at home against newly-promoted Pisa.
