Zelensky Rejects Territorial Concessions, Urges ‘Fair Peace’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has ruled out any territorial concessions to Russia, insisting that peace must be “fair” and free of deception.

Ahead of talks in Berlin with European leaders and U.S. President Donald Trump, Zelensky said Ukraine and its allies must maintain pressure on Moscow to end the war.

“Pressure must be exerted on Russia for the sake of a fair peace. We must learn from the experience of Ukraine and our partners to prevent deception on the part of Russia,” he wrote on social media, adding there were “no signs” the Kremlin intended to halt its invasion.

The Berlin meeting comes after Zelensky’s team held more than 30 discussions with world leaders and senior officials in preparation. It also follows limited but rapid Russian advances in eastern Donetsk, which Moscow claims as its territory.

A Ukrainian delegation member told AFP that recent Russian gains near the mining hub of Dobropillia “did not influence” the preparations for the talks. On Tuesday, Zelensky acknowledged Russian troops had advanced up to 10 kilometres (six miles) but dismissed any notion of trading land for peace.
