APC Youths Reject Governor Kefas’s Defection Move

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Council in Taraba State has rejected reports that Governor Agbu Kefas intends to defect to the ruling party, calling the move unacceptable and inconsistent with APC’s ideals.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Jalingo, the council said youth leaders from across the state convened and unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on the governor, arguing that his political ideology and leadership style do not align with the progressive principles of the APC.

“We, the youths of APC in Taraba State, unanimously reject the defection of Governor Agbu Kefas into our great party. He is not a progressive leader, and APC is not a party for his caliber. Our position is clear: we do not support his entry,” stated Bilyamin Musa, the State Coordinator.

The group further accused Kefas of lacking vision and capacity, claiming that his two years in office had failed to produce meaningful development in Taraba State.

The council also urged APC’s national leadership to consider the concerns of Taraba youths and ensure the party remains a platform for disciplined, visionary, and development-focused leaders.

Reaffirming their loyalty to the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the youths pledged continued commitment to strengthening the party and mobilizing support for its success across the state.
