At that time, the incident occurred after Bellingham scored an equalizer in England’s 2-1 win over Slovakia in the Euro last-16. He was fined £25,400 and given a suspended one-match ban, which expired this summer.
Bellingham had defended the gesture as an “inside joke” aimed at close friends in the stadium, emphasizing his respect for the Slovakian team.
Since UEFA only governs European international competitions, it is unclear whether LaLiga or the Spanish Football Federation will take action for the repetition of the gesture in a domestic match.
