Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His resignation was announced today, October 15.
In a related development, the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and 22 other lawmakers have also quit the opposition party.
Governor Diri’s departure from the PDP comes just 24 hours after his Enugu State counterpart, Peter Mbah, defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reports suggest that Governor Diri is likely to join the APC in the coming days.
