Justin Bieber has opened up about the emotional rollercoaster he experienced during the birth of his son, Jack Blues, revealing that tensions in the delivery room led to a heated moment with their doula.
The 31-year-old singer, who welcomed his baby boy with wife Hailey Bieber in August 2024, shared the story during a Twitch livestream this week — describing it as one of the most intense and emotional moments of his life.
According to Bieber, disagreements arose between members of Hailey’s medical team.
“I remember there was tension,” he said. “We had a doula and a nurse, and they were kind of butting heads. Then I started butting heads with the doula too,” he admitted, as reported by Daily Mail.
Justin recalled that the situation made Hailey anxious, prompting her to urge him to make peace.
“She was like, ‘You need to apologize to the doula. Just clear the air,’” he said.
The singer explained that he did apologize but felt overlooked in the process.
“I was like, ‘I’m sorry, my emotions are high, but don’t take away from my moment either — as the dad, I’ve got this too.’”
He went on to emphasize that he wanted to be fully involved in the birth, trusting his instincts as a father.
“There are times when I need to console Hailey, and I felt like I was being pushed aside. It’s instinctual to be a dad — to be there.”
Hailey had previously revealed to Vogue that her delivery was traumatic. She shared that she had to be induced, endured 18 hours of labor without an epidural, and later suffered a postpartum hemorrhage.
“That s**t was so crazy. That was not fun,” she said. “I was bleeding really badly, and people die… the thought crosses your mind.”
The couple announced Jack’s birth in August 2024 with a tender Instagram post showing his tiny foot and the caption: “WELCOME HOME, JACK BLUES BIEBER 🧸.”
Reflecting on the experience, Justin said fatherhood has completely changed his outlook.
“It’s one of the most important times of your life. You just want to do right by your wife and your child.”
