Foluke Adeboye, wife of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has shared how a meal brought to their home on New Year’s Day claimed the life of their family dog after she instructed that the food be given to the animals instead of the household.
Speaking to church members in a recently circulated video, the 77-year-old explained that the food was one of the many gifts delivered to their residence during the holiday. She said she became uneasy upon seeing it and immediately asked that it not be served to anyone in the house.
“Somebody on New Year’s Day brought food to our house. Many people had been coming in, eating and going. I walked into the kitchen and asked who brought the food. When they told me, I felt something and told them to give it to the dogs,” she said.
According to her, a visitor from London who witnessed the incident was surprised and questioned the decision. However, within an hour, the gateman reported that the dog had d+ed after eating the food.
Mrs. Adeboye emphasized that the outcome could have been far worse if any member of the household had eaten the meal.
“Imagine if someone in Daddy GO’s house had eaten that food. What would the news be?” she asked.
She urged church members to remain spiritually alert and cautious, especially regarding gifts received during festive seasons.
Foluke and Pastor Enoch Adeboye have been married since 1967 and share three children.
