22-year-old hairdresser kills herself in Enugu after discovering her boyfriend’s infidelity

A 22-year-old hairdresser, Miss Odama Mary Agado, has reportedly taken her own life in Enugu after discovering that her boyfriend was cheating on her.

According to Vanguard, Mary, who hailed from Woleche-Ipuole in Yahe Ward, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State, allegedly consumed a poisonous substance believed to be sniper following the heartbreaking discovery.

Sources revealed that Mary was a thriving hairstylist in Enugu and had recently bought a car and rented an apartment for her boyfriend.

A family source, identified as Daniel, said the tragedy occurred after Mary visited her boyfriend last Friday and caught him with another woman in the apartment she had rented for him.

“She became very angry and left for her own apartment,” Daniel said. “There, she called her mother and told her what happened. She also said her mother should take whatever happened in good faith because she wouldn’t live again.”

Daniel added that Mary’s mother, who reportedly didn’t have airtime to return the call, couldn’t raise an alarm in time. She later received a distress call that her daughter had taken poison and was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead later that evening.

Her body was transported to her hometown in Yala, Cross River State, and buried immediately upon arrival on Saturday.

“Once the body arrived, we dug a grave and buried her because she was too young to be kept for a full customary burial,” Daniel explained. “We are devastated. Some say she may have been spiritually manipulated, but no amount of blame will bring her back.”

The family reportedly chose not to involve the police, maintaining that Mary took her own life.
