A Magistrate Court sitting in Kuje, Abuja, has granted bail to activist and politician Omoyele Sowore, along with several others arrested during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in the Federal Capital Territory.
Those granted bail also include Aloy Ejimakor, counsel to detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, his brother Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and 11 other protesters.
Presiding Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai’id granted the bail on Friday after the group was arraigned on charges of unlawful assembly and disturbing public peace.
Each defendant was granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000, with the condition that they provide a verified National Identification Number (NIN).
Additionally, the court required all defendants to submit their international passports and present three-year tax clearance certificates as part of the bail conditions.
