Canada advanced with a dominant 6-0 victory over Zambia, while Japan secured a 4-0 win against Colombia. Mexico narrowly edged Paraguay 1-0, and France overcame Spain 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw to reach the last eight.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. No African team made it past the Round of 16, as Nigeria, Morocco, and Zambia were all eliminated.
