The Super Eagles of Nigeria are scheduled to take on Egypt in a friendly encounter as part of preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
According to a statement from the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), the match was organized at the request of Egypt’s head coach, Hossam Hassan, who sought to test his team against one of Africa’s strongest sides ahead of the continental tournament.
The Pharaohs are also set to participate in the UAE International Tournament, where they will play Uzbekistan on November 14. The competition will also feature Cape Verde and Iran, who are slated to clash a day earlier. The winners of both fixtures will face off in the final on November 18.
The Nigeria–Egypt friendly will take place at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday, December 14.
Before meeting Egypt, the Super Eagles will participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoffs in Morocco. They will face Gabon in their opening match on November 13, and if victorious, will go on to play the winner of the second-round clash between Cameroon and DR Congo on November 16.
