Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X was arrested and later hospitalized on Thursday morning following reports of a possible overdose, according to U.S. media reports.
The 26-year-old artist, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was detained by Los Angeles police shortly after 6 a.m. on August 21.
LAPD officials said officers were dispatched around 5:50 a.m. to Ventura Boulevard after receiving reports of a nude man walking in the area. Upon arrival, the individual allegedly charged at the officers before being restrained and taken into custody.
He was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment related to a suspected overdose and later booked on charges of battery on a police officer.
Authorities initially withheld the suspect’s identity, but Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department inmate records later confirmed it was Lil Nas X.
