The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called off its two-week warning strike declared last week across all public universities in Nigeria.
The announcement was made on Wednesday during a press conference at the union’s national secretariat in Abuja.
ASUU President, Chris Piwuna, who addressed journalists, stated that the decision came after the intervention of the Senate and several concerned Nigerians who engaged the union in discussions.
He further revealed that the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU has resolved to grant the Federal Government a one-month grace period to address all pending issues affecting the union.
