Chaos as shouting men rush at Donald Trump during speech in Israel’s parliament

Tense moments unfolded in Israel’s parliament on Monday when two shouting men attempted to rush at U.S. President Donald Trump during his address to the Knesset.

The incident occurred as Trump was praising real estate developer Steve Witkoff, when loud shouts suddenly erupted from the chamber. Security cameras captured one man sprinting toward the podium while holding up a piece of paper with the word “genocide” written on it before being swiftly restrained and escorted out by guards.

Authorities later identified the two individuals as MKs Ofer Kasif and Ayman Odeh, both left-wing members of Israel’s parliament. Odeh has long been critical of Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while Kasif, a vocal critic of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), was previously expelled from the Knesset for accusing the IDF of war crimes and for signing South Africa’s genocide petition to the International Court of Justice.

Despite the disruption, Trump remained composed, commending the quick response of security personnel:

“That was very efficient,” he remarked, before resuming his speech.

In his address, Trump spoke about peace and faith in the region, declaring:

“We gather on a day of profound joy, soaring hope, and renewed faith — a day to give our deepest thanks to the Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

He continued:

“After so many years of unceasing war and danger, the skies are calm, the guns are silent, and the sirens are still. This is not only the end of a war, but the beginning of an age of faith, hope, and lasting harmony for Israel and all nations of this magnificent region.”
