Naira Strengthens Against US Dollar in Black and Official Markets

The naira gained ground against the US dollar in both the parallel and official foreign exchange markets on Monday, marking a positive start to the week.

Abubakar Alhasan, a Bureau De Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, told DAILY POST that the naira rose to N1,485 per dollar in the black market on Monday, up from N1,500 on Friday, October 25, 2025. This reflects a N15 gain against the dollar compared to last week’s close.

At the official market, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed the naira appreciated by N5.16, closing Monday at N1,452.79 per dollar, up from N1,457.96 on Friday.

Recall that this marks the naira’s fifth consecutive weekly appreciation against the dollar in the official market.
