TCN Announces Over Two-Week Power Outage in Parts of Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that several areas in Abuja will experience electricity disruptions lasting over two weeks.

TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah revealed in a statement on Monday that the outage, scheduled from Tuesday, October 28, to Sunday, November 16, is due to road construction activities in the Federal Capital Territory.

The 132-kilovolt Gwagwalada–Kukwaba–Apo double-circuit transmission line will be affected, resulting in temporary electricity interruptions in Apo, Lokogoma, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, and Idu Industrial Layout.

TCN explained that the planned load management will occur in three phases:

Phase 1: Tuesday, October 28 – Sunday, November 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily

Phase 2: Wednesday, November 6 – Saturday, November 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily

Phase 3: Tuesday, November 12 – Saturday, November 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily

The company assured that normal power supply will be restored at the end of each day’s work.
