Founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc and Anap Foundation, Atedo Peterside, has described the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) under the leadership of Professor Mahmood Yakubu as a “national disgrace.”
Peterside made the remark on Monday during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme monitored by DAILY POST.
Responding to questions about his expectations for the new INEC chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and the upcoming off-cycle elections in Anambra and Ekiti States, Peterside said:
“I would never say never. But the INEC that was left behind by Prof. Mahmood Yakubu was a national disgrace.
If you have the time, I can personally take you to the IReV portal and show you result sheets that were manipulated.
In some cases, they altered figures but forgot to change the corresponding words — it simply didn’t add up.”
