Former Senator Dino Melaye has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granting a presidential pardon to 70 convicted drug traffickers.
In a post shared on Instagram, Melaye said the decision undermines the relentless efforts of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in combating drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria.
According to him, the President’s action “makes nonsense of all the sacrifices and hard work” of the NDLEA. Melaye further remarked that Tinubu might as well scrap the agency entirely if such pardons continue to be issued.
