Six Palestinians killed as Israel opens fire over alleged ceasefire violation

At least six Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire in Gaza, according to health authorities in the enclave. The Israeli military confirmed on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, that it opened fire in the northern Gaza Strip, claiming it was responding to a threat posed by individuals who approached its forces.

The army alleged that the suspects had crossed a boundary established for an initial Israeli withdrawal under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement, describing the act as a violation of the deal.

Gaza’s health ministry said six people were killed in two separate incidents across the enclave on Tuesday.

This came a day after Hamas released the last surviving Israeli hostages from Gaza, while Israel returned busloads of Palestinian detainees as part of the ceasefire deal. U.S. President Donald Trump had hailed the agreement on Monday, declaring an end to the two-year-long conflict that has shaken the Middle East.
